Woodland, Meadow and Wetland Naturalization Many properties or estates in this region include one or all of the above areas. These areas if maintained, installed and managed correctly can provide great horticultural and wildlife interest to any property. We proceed by evaluating and identifying existing plant material, then removing and controlling invasive introduced plant material such as :- Norway maple (Acer platanoides), Autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellate), Multiflora rose (Rosa multifora), etc And then:- Installing naturalized plantings using native plant material. There are a great number of interesting native plant species which are suitable for wetland, woodland and meadow areas. Another main objective when designing and managing naturalized areas is to encourage further wildlife habitats. This includes selecting plant material to provide food sources and creating nesting locations by providing and installing nesting boxes for Blue bird trails, Wrens, Bats, Owls and water fowl. |
