Sustainable Landscapes:

There is a wide variety of Native trees, shrubs & perennials which are aesthetically pleasing and also provide environmental benefits. Perimeter areas, larger lawns, trouble areas or slopes are ideal spaces which can be transformed into a Naturalized planting rather than a maintenance nightmare. Many properties in this region include a meadow, woodland or a wetland area. If installed, maintained and managed correctly these areas can provide great environmental, horticultural and wildlife interest to any property.

We proceed by evaluating and identifying existing plant material, then removing and controlling invasive non-native plant material such as : Norway maple (Acer platanoides), Autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata), Multiflora rose (Rosa multifora), etc. And then we install naturalized plantings using native plant material. Native species provide food & habitat specifically for native insects.

Woodland Planting

The non-native species, if allowed, will eliminate the habitat for natives and thus eliminating the beneficial wildlife, also. Sustainable Landscapes are appealing because they create incredible beauty and require minimal maintenance.
